Jonathan Dawe

Treasurer

Born and raised in Ottawa, Jonathan has grown to appreciate the beauty and diversity of his city. Whether he is checking out a new performance at the NAC, running along the canal, busting a move on the dance floor, or grabbing a coffee with friends, Jon is always zooming around town. In his spare time, Jon likes to experiment in the kitchen, sing in the shower, stay fit by kicking around a soccer ball, but most importantly, Jon enjoys long walks on the beach.

Jonathan graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Commerce and has recently obtained his Chartered Accountancy designation. While at Carleton, Jon had the chance to live in residence and become heavily involved in the Carleton community by becoming the Vice President of Programming for Canada's largest independent and student-run residence association. As part of his position, Jon was responsible for creating and organizing the events that took place on Carleton's campus for over 2800 residence students.

For the 2011 festival, Jon was the sponsorship coordinator and worked with local business and media outlets to develop a larger network of GLBTQ and ally businesses, and publicize the Capital Pride brand across Canada. This year, Jon will be putting his financial background to work by taking the role of Capital Pride's treasurer. Jon hopes to develop long term financial strategies for the organization which will help see the festival grow even larger!

Jonathan is looking forward to a great year and an awesome pride season this summer!
